That's the Way The Cookie Tumbles

No toothpicks were used, just lots of setting up and waiting until the cookies almost fell...

Good Times in Chicago

My brother and two best friends came to visit me and we spent the day in Chicago and spent the day wandering the city and of course, taking pictures. I took the top one of my best friend, Brian downtown and then he took the bottom one of the reflection of all of us in Millenium Park late at night. We tried to take the bottom picture without flash (because of the reflection) but it was way too dark.

Fashion Show on a Budget

These are pictures I took at a local fashion show, and although the show was on a budget I still treated it the same as I would've a huge show in the city. The people were hilarious, and everyone was very sweet for the "Seniors on the Move" Fashion Show and Dinner last Saturday evening (Nov.25th)

Fashion & Upright Bass

I'll add more pictures from Pret A Porte on Monday, but I'll add some on-location fashion shots from home for now. This is definitely one of my favorite pictures, and it was almost an accident - we were trying to figure out what to do with this huge bass and then I asked Nate if he could hold it up, and before we knew it he became this "larger than life" upright bass player who looked tough and sweet in the same image.

Children's Fashion - V

The most important thing in Children's Fashion is the expression, especially the eyes, and once you captivate the readers/audience with that their eyes will go to the clothes/accessories for the ad.

Children's Fashion - IV

This is probably one my of favorite pictures because it took a little patience but after awhile I just watched Kytt do her own thing and caught this from the sly. She's definitely one of my favorites, such a cute and good little girl.

Children's Fashion - III

One of the many little girl models I took pictures of in the studio for Portfolio 2006 for the Fashion School at Kent State University.

Children's Fashion - II

This picture is one of the many from the Kent State University's Fashion Department Fashion Show, Portfolio 2006. The 2006 Portfolio fashion show featured the work of 27 Kent State students whose designs were inspired by two hubs of glitz and glamour — New York City and Los Angeles.

Children's Photography for this week

One of my favorite subjects to shoot is Children's fashion or portraiture. I've been lucky to babysit and have good friends that have adorable and photogenic children (which you'll be seeing more of this week), and I also got to take pictures for a huge fashion show at Kent State last spring. This child model here is probably the best child model I have ever seen, let alone photograph - if I ever make it to the big time in children's photography she's going with me!

The Face of Music (in Sanity Fare)

For the past 5-6 years I have been photographing the band Sanity Fare from Warren, Ohio. I started photographing them my freshman year at college as the band was just taking form, and as they developed their musical craft into something amazing, I too was devloping in my photography. These guys are amazing and have let me into each of their lives for the past years, and being a few states away now really makes me glad I can still hear them everyday on my iTunes and their cds (please visit them at: www.sanityfare.com) - The top picture was the first "staged" picture I took of them, from back in March of 2002.

Capturing "that moment" with kids

Waiting for just the right moment may take patience but it's definitely worth it...
(by the way - the sign on the little girl's back says "I'm walking for my grandmother", I took this photo at a "Walk For A Cure" rally)

Wine and Scrapbooking

These are pictures I took over the weekend at a scrapbook fundraiser (looked a lot more fun than selling candles or magazines for a fundraiser, lol) and a wine tasting event that was absolutely huge.

Different take on a few of my favorite things

I took these two pictures during a color concepts class during college...so many photos are done with roses (our professor actually banned use of roses in photos after February because there were so many) and I also wanted to take a different perspective on shoes (although I had to re-shoot this one a few times, because the first ones were too abstract and you couldn't tell they were actually shoes).

Drippity - Drip and Poppity - Pop

These are photo Illustrations I did for a class in college. The nail polish was for an assignment which called for a "cosmetic shot" and the popcorn shot was for a "glass" ad but ended up changing it and re-shooting it for an "crate and barrel" ad project. I'll post the reshoot tomorrow.
